which would thus leave the entrance to the pier clear.

The ricksha coolies paid no attention to what I said,
and walked away. One of them said "what for I afraid of you
My master belong plenty money" I then took hold of the shafts
of the ricksha, and began to move it myself. Just as I had
finished getting it into the place that I wanter it, the old
gentleman came ashore. He came up to me and said, as far as I can remember "What do you mean by doing that ?" I said "I'm
clearing a passage for the public, I know what to do" or words to this effect. I am absolutely certain I said nothing
disrespectful. I may have said "I know what to do, I dont
want you to tell me" but I certainly did not mean to be which
disrespectful in anything that I said. He then said "Your number is 45, I'm going to report you" I said "you may do so". This is all that took place. I did not strike or illtreat any
of the ricksha eoolies.
The old gentleman appeared very excited, and jumped into his ricksha, and told the eoolies to take him to the Police
Station.
